What is banding, and how do I avoid it?
File Setup & Color
Banding is when a smooth gradient prints as visible stripes or steps of color instead of a smooth blend.
It usually comes from one of two things: a gradient that goes from very light to very dark in a small space, or the way some programs export gradients. Either way, it shows up in your file before it reaches us.
Give gradients enough room to transition, avoid big jumps in a short distance, and zoom in on your exported PDF to check for steps before you upload.
