Should I send a proof, sample or file with crop marks along with my artwork?

No. Only upload the files you want printed. If you upload a proof, a mockup or a reference image, it can get printed by mistake along with your job.
The same goes for crop marks, color bars, template guides and slit or fold lines. Anything left in the file can end up on the printed piece. Design on top of the template, then hide or delete the template layer before you save.
If you need to tell us something about the job, send it as a note, not as an extra file.
