How much bleed do signs, banners and flags need?
Signs & Banners
Bleed for large format depends on the product:
- Coroplast, PVC and foam core signs, car magnets, posters and banner stands: 0.5" on all sides. A 24" x 18" sign should be set up at 25" x 19".
- Retractable banner stands: the same 0.5", so a 33" x 80" banner is set up at 34" x 81". No grommets.
- Vinyl, mesh and indoor banners: no bleed and no crop marks. Make the file the exact size you ordered, and keep all text, logos and images 2" in from every edge.
- Canvas banners: no bleed needed, but make the file the finished size plus any extra you need for mounting or framing.
- Flags: 0.5" bleed, and keep important artwork away from the hems and pole pocket. Use the flag template.
- Table covers: 0.5" bleed and a 1" safe zone on all sides. Use the template.
- Floor graphics, window graphics and decals: 0.5" on all sides.
When there's a template on the product page, use it. It has the right bleed and safe areas built in.
