How do I set up artwork for digital envelopes?
Marketing Products
Digital envelopes are already made when they go through the press, so the rules are different from offset envelopes:
- 4/0 prints the front, 4/4 prints the front and the back flaps, and 0/4 prints only the back flaps.
- Bleed is 0.0625" on each side, and keep text and images at least 0.25" from the edge.
- Keep ink coverage low: a white background with a logo and text is ideal. Avoid full-color backgrounds and limit gradients and transparency.
- Designs with more than 40% ink coverage need to be printed as offset envelopes.
- On window envelopes, keep the window completely free of ink and keep artwork at least 1/8" from its edge. The plastic window is already attached before printing.
