How do I get the best result on raised gloss cards?
Business Cards & Finishes
- Keep coverage under 30% of the card. With more coating than that, the cards can stick together in the box.
- Up to 70% is fine only for patterns, thin lines or small shapes, not large solid areas. Ideally no single coated area is bigger than about 1" x 1".
- Text size: no smaller than 6pt, or 9pt for fonts with thick strokes.
- Vector mask: always, for sharp edges.
Raised gloss works best as an accent on a logo, a name or a pattern, not as a coating over the whole card.
