Are roll labels safe for food packaging?
Stickers & Labels
Labels can be used on food packaging, but only with a layer of FDA-approved food contact material between the label and the food. The label goes on the package, not on the food.
That layer also helps on products that get wet or cold, because the label sticks better to it. It's up to you, as the packer, to make sure your packaging meets FDA rules.
